The theatrical trailer of Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' was released yesterday and the name of Madhu Mantena, one of the producers, was strangely missing from it.
Madhu, who debuted in his personal capacity as a producer with the Aamir Khan-starrer 'Ghajini' (2008), co-founded Phantom Films with the director trio Kashyap, Vikas Bahl and Vikramaditya Motwane in 2012. Though now Phantom is producing 'Bombay Velvet' in partnership with Fox Star India, there is no mention of Madhu in the film trailer or posters.
What is the reason behind Madhu's name being omitted? The answer comes right from the horse's mouth. Says Madhu: "Post Ghajini, I stopped putting my name in film posters and trailers. However, I had taken credit for Ugly (2014) as it was Phantom's first film to go the Cannes Film Festival. In no other film will you see my name. It's a personal choice; I don't like being at the front."
