Sunny Deol, who is busy shooting for the sequel to his superhit 1990 film 'Ghayal' in dual capacity of lead actor and director, had announced in 2010 about his elder son Karan being launched in a year. The name of Anil Sharma, who directed the 57-year-old actor in 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', did the rounds, but nothing came of it. A few months ago, he spoke about "desperately" looking for a good story for his launch vehicle.
Now we hear that he is scouting for well known directors to helm his son's debut film and has apparently approached Vikas Bahl and Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra already. A source says, "Rakeysh is shooting for 'Mirziya', which will mark the debut of Anil Kapoor's son, Harshvardhan, while Vikas is involved in the post production of Shandaar. The latter is unsure about taking up any project as he already has a script to go with after Shandaar releases."
There is buzz that Sunny has also had a word with Imtiaz Ali about his son. Earlier this year, Deol Sr reportedly rejected a three-film deal with Yash Raj for Karan. "His son is attending acting classes in the city and also assisting him for 'Ghayal Returns'," says a source close to the actor.
