Zoya Akhtar wanted to show rushes of her next to the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara star cast, but none turned up due to their busy schedule

After a gap of four years, Zoya Akhtar will mark her next directorial outing with the multi-starrer 'Dil Dhadakne Do'. She had arranged for a small preview of the film for her industry friends, including the star cast of her last film, 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' (2011). But barring her brother Farhan Akhtar, none of the actors - Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin, Katrina Kaif - could make it.

"Zoya had been working on the trailer for the last couple of weeks and had received several requests from her friends for a sneak peek. As the final edit was recently locked, she shared the film's trailer with her close friends for a first-hand feedback," says a source.

Farhan was the first one see it, followed by filmmakers like Kiran Rao, Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl and Homi Adajania. However, the cast of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' could not turn up as they had been invited on short notice, suggests the source.

The film's spokesperson confirms the story stating: "Zoya had reached out to the cast of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', but it was a last minute thing and they had prior work commitments. So they could not make it."
