"Bhai's" Mission Delayed! Salman Khan's 'Battle of Galwan' Postponed to Independence Day 2026!
It looks like the "Tiger" needs a little more time to roar. Just as fans were gearing up for an April release, reports have confirmed that Salman Khan’s highly anticipated war drama 'Battle of Galwan' has been postponed. Originally slated for April 17, 2026, the film is now reportedly targeting a massive Independence Day release to capitalize on the patriotic spirit.

Here is the breakdown of the delay and the new target date.

The New Date: August 14, 2026 🇮🇳

The Shift: According to exclusive reports from Bollywood Hungama and Times of India today (Feb 9), the makers have decided to push the film to August 14, 2026.

The Logic: The move aligns the film with India's 80th Independence Day (August 15), which the makers feel is a "better fit" for a film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.

The Clash: If this date holds, it could set up a box-office battle with Kartik Aaryan’s creature-comedy 'Naagzilla', which is also eyeing the same weekend.

Why the Delay? (Reshoots & Permissions) 🛑

Pending Shoot: A fresh one-week shooting schedule kicked off today (Monday, Feb 9) at the Golden Tobacco Factory in Mumbai to film additional sequences and "patchwork."

Defence Ministry Screening: Since the film deals with a sensitive real-life military conflict, it must be screened for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC). This process takes time, making the April deadline impossible to meet.

Important Correction: Not a Sunny Deol Film 🚨

The Star: Please note that this film stars Salman Khan (playing real-life hero Col. Santosh Babu) and Chitrangda Singh.

Sunny Deol Context: You might be confusing this with 'Border 2', which does star Sunny Deol and is currently playing in theaters (and just crossed ₹300 Crore!). Battle of Galwan is a separate project directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

SantaBanta Verdict: Salman Khan in a uniform on Independence Day? That is a box-office recipe we haven't seen since Ek Tha Tiger. While the wait is longer, moving a patriotic film to August 15 is a "masterstroke" that could turn it into an industry hit.
