"Ab Hoga Justice Ka Prahaar": Rajkummar Rao's Ujjwal Nikam Biopic Pushed to This Date!
Maddock Films and director Avinash Arun (Paatal Lok, Three of Us) have officially announced a new theatrical release date for Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam.

Headlined by Rajkummar Rao in the role of celebrated special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, the biographical courtroom drama has moved from its previously scheduled date of August 7 to Friday, October 16, 2026.

Official Announcement & Production Profile

Producer Dinesh Vijan unveiled the new release schedule on social media with the tagline:

"Ab hoga justice ka PRAHAAR on 16th October. #PRAHAAR – The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, in cinemas 16th October 2026."

Plot & Core Themes

The 26/11 Trial Focus: While covering key milestones across Nikam’s decorated career, the narrative heavily focuses on the legal prosecution of Ajmal Kasab, the sole surviving terrorist captured during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The teaser frames the courtroom battle with the tagline: "Killing Kasab was easy, proving who sent him was war."

Rao's Physical Transformation: To portray the veteran prosecutor, Rajkummar Rao gained nearly 10 kilograms, adopted a heavier build, and perfected Nikam’s distinct body language and Marathi-speaking nuances.

Ensemble Support: The cast features Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, Lalit Prabhakar, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Ritvik Sahore.

Trade Verdict:

Shifting to mid-October places Prahaar in an advantageous pre-festive theatrical slot, allowing Maddock Films extra breathing room to roll out a focused promotional campaign following the teaser's strong critical reception.
