The incident dates back to Akshay’s early career days when he resided in a flat in Lokhandwala, Andheri (Mumbai), and Bachchan visited his home. What was meant to be a routine hospitable gesture turned into an unforgettable comedy of errors courtesy of an overwhelmed house help from Bachchan's own hometown of Allahabad (Prayagraj).
The Incident: 4 Glasses of Water Straight Onto Big B's Kurta
Turning directly to Bachchan during the episode, Akshay asked whether he remembered visiting his Lokhandwala residence:
“Sir, do you remember when you came to my house? I am talking about Lokhandwala, when I used to live there. The person who worked at my house had to give you some water. There were three or four glasses kept there. I remember it very clearly—Sir was wearing a kurta, and that boy was from Allahabad. He looked at you and simply couldn’t believe that he was actually giving Amitabh ji a glass of water.”
Akshay explained that the boy was so awestruck by Bachchan's towering physical presence that he completely lost his spatial awareness:
“Toh woh paani leke aaya. Chaar glass the aur woh chaaron ke chaar glass unhone inke kurte par phenk diya, kyunki woh dekh hi nahi saka! (He came with the water. There were four glasses, and he ended up spilling all four of them right over your kurta because he was so stunned he couldn't even see properly!)”
The recollection had Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, and filmmaker Priyadarshan (who was watching from the audience gallery) laughing out loud.

With Bachchan drenched in four glasses of water right in the living room, Akshay found himself in an awkward bind:
“Ab main yeh soch raha hoon ki abhi kya ho gaya! Sir is obviously very tall, so I had to give him my own kurta so that it could fit his frame properly. I remember that moment very clearly, though I can’t recall that boy’s name now.”
Bachchan sportingly chuckled along with the memory, reflecting on how often encounters with fans from Allahabad bring unexpected moments of intensity and disbelief.
