This marks the first-ever collaboration between the Singham star and Jugraj, and the project is already being touted as one of the most ambitious genre films in Indian cinema history.
The Project: Atmospheric Horror 🕯️
The Vision: Departing from the jump-scare-heavy "horror-comedy" trend currently ruling Bollywood, this untitled film is being described as a pure, high-concept horror experience.
The Setting: The film will be shot extensively in London, focusing on immersive world-building and a gritty, psychological narrative.
The Producer: The project is being backed by long-time collaborator Kumar Mangat, ensuring a grand cinematic scale.
Why It's a Milestone 🏆
The 23-Year Wait: This is Ajay Devgn’s first full-fledged horror film since Ram Gopal Varma’s Bhoot (2003). While he recently explored supernatural themes in Shaitaan (2024), this new project is said to be a return to "unadulterated, atmospheric horror."
Casting News: While the lead is locked, the makers are currently conducting secret auditions to assemble a "strong ensemble cast" of both fresh and established talent to complement Ajay’s powerful screen presence.
Shooting Schedule & Release 🎬
Timeline: Principal photography is set to kick off in July 2026.
Current Work: Ajay is currently juggling a massive slate. He is presently in Mumbai filming 'Golmaal 5' with Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar (slated for a 2027 release) and preparing for the October 2026 release of 'Drishyam 3'.
SantaBanta Verdict:
Ajay Devgn in a horror film set in the misty streets of London is a dream combination! Rohit Jugraj has a fantastic eye for commercial pacing, and seeing him transition from the vibrant world of Sardaarji to a dark, high-concept "scarefest" is incredibly intriguing. If they manage to capture even half the tension of Bhoot, we are in for a spine-chilling masterpiece.
