Sony SAB’s newly launched show, Yaadein, has been capturing the audience’s attention with its intense storytelling and emotionally layered narrative. Airing Monday - Saturday at 8 PM, the show follows the journey of Dr. Dev Mehta (Iqbal Khan), a brilliant doctor whose life is irrevocably altered when an accident erases eight years of his memory. Stripped of his past and the life he once built, Dr Dev is forced to navigate a reality that feels unfamiliar, confronting a version of himself he no longer recognizes.
The show establishes Dr Dev as an exceptional doctor, committed to saving lives, while hinting at complexities in his personal life. Just as Dr Dev begins to uncover the truth behind a young patient’s death, he is shot by the child’s grieving father, a moment that changes everything. When Dr Dev regains consciousness, he realizes he has lost the last eight years of his memory. In the upcoming track, as Dr Dev searches for answers, he begins asking about his son, Dhruv, only to be met with silence. The truth eventually comes crashing down on him as he discovers that Dhruv is no more. The revelation shatters Dr Dev. A father with no memory of his loss is forced to confront an overwhelming grief, making this a defining emotional moment that sets the stage for his journey of healing and rediscovery.
Talking about the episodes, Iqbal Khan, shares, “As an actor, playing Dr Dev in this phase has been both challenging and moving, because he is not just dealing with the loss of his son, he is dealing with a loss he doesn’t even remember experiencing. As actors, we often move quickly from one scene to another, but this one lingered. It made me think about how fragile life is and how we often take moments with our loved ones for granted. That personal reflection helped me stay honest to Dr Dev’s emotional state. I believe audiences will connect with this because at its core, it’s about love, loss, and the very human need to hold on to the people who matter the most.”
