Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival that brings families, friends and communities together, filling every corner with devotion, joy and celebration. While Mumbai is known for its grand festivities, celebrating away from one’s hometown can also bring back memories of familiar traditions and family celebrations. This Ganesh Chaturthi, Sony SAB actors Gulki Joshi, Karuna Pandey, Chandan Anand, Toral Rasputra and Sarita Joshi share what they miss most about celebrating Bappa back home, whether they bring Bappa home while celebrating in Mumbai, and what they enjoy most about the city’s festive spirit.

Gulki Joshi, who essays the role of Dr Srishty in Yaadein, shares, "I am half Maharashtrian, so Ganesh Chaturthi has always been a festival I have felt connected to. Being from Indore, I do miss celebrating with my family back home, but Mumbai has its own charm. I especially look forward to ukdiche modak and love seeing how the entire city comes together for Bappa. For me, sharing these festive moments with family is what makes the celebration truly special."

Karuna Pandey, who essays the role of Pushpa in Pushpa Impossible, shares, "I come from Uttarakhand, so the way we celebrate festivals back home is quite different from the grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Maharashtra. After coming to Mumbai, I found it beautiful to see how people bring Bappa home and celebrate with so much love and devotion. I especially enjoy seeing my friends welcome Bappa into their homes. It also brings back a simple childhood memory that every pooja at home would always begin with Ganesh ji ki pooja. I grew up hearing that without his blessings, nothing feels complete."

Chandan Anand, who essays the role of Shakuni in Hastinapur Ke Veer, shares, "I am from Delhi, so I do miss celebrating festivals with my family back home. But Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai has a completely different energy. I love seeing people bring Bappa home and the whole city come alive with dhol-tasha, processions and celebrations. Even when I am away from home, being part of Mumbai’s festivities makes me feel included."

Sarita Joshi, who essays the role of Radha in Pushpa Impossible, shares, "I love bringing Bappa home. Coming from a Marathi family, Ganesh Chaturthi has always been a very special festival for me, and I have fond memories of celebrating it while growing up in Vadodara. Earlier, I used to welcome Bappa home for seven days, and those days were always filled with so much joy, togetherness and having family and friends over. Today, I also love experiencing the grand celebrations in Mumbai, where the entire city comes alive with such incredible energy and devotion. Whether it is celebrating at home with loved ones or stepping out to experience Mumbai’s festive spirit, bringing Bappa home is always a very special and happy occasion for me.”
