Directed by Pulkit (of Bhakshak fame), this isn't your typical love story. It’s a chilling psychological thriller inspired by a real-life "honeymoon murder" case from 2025.
The Chilling Plot: A Honeymoon Gone Wrong 🏔️
The Premise: A newly married couple, Sundar and Poonam, travel from Chandigarh to the snow-capped mountains of Kashmir for their honeymoon.
The Mystery: Seven days into the trip, the couple goes missing. As the Chandigarh and Kashmir police launch a joint search, a series of disturbing truths about Poonam’s "obsessive love" and "twisted past" begin to surface.
The Inspiration: The film draws heavy inspiration from the 2025 Indore honeymoon case, where a businessman was tragically murdered during a trip to Meghalaya.
Sanya Malhotra’s "Darkest" Role Yet 🎭
The Look: In the first-look visuals released yesterday, Sanya is seen as a beautiful bride in a blood-red lehenga. However, the mood shifts quickly as she is shown smiling at herself in a mirror while applying lipstick, with a phone flashing multiple names like "Sundar" and "Raju," hinting at her hidden identities.
Sanya’s Take: Speaking about the project, Sanya said: "Sundar Poonam is incredibly exciting. It pushes me into an unexplored, intense, and emotionally demanding space. It’s a side of me the audience has never seen."
The Co-Stars: Joining Sanya is Aditya Rawal (son of Paresh Rawal), who is currently the "hot favorite" after his recent hits Daldal and Subedaar. Aditya Seal also plays a pivotal role in the "deadly spiral."
Production & Release Details 🎬
The Settings: The film features a stark visual contrast, moving from the freezing, white landscapes of Kashmir to the burning, golden deserts of Rajasthan.
The Banner: Produced by Abundantia Entertainment (Vikram Malhotra) and Tips Films (Kumar Taurani).
Where to Watch: The film is an Amazon Prime Video Original and is slated to premiere later in 2026.
SantaBanta Verdict:
With the tagline "Guilt is such a useless emotion," this film is clearly moving away from Bollywood’s usual "sugar-coated" romance. Sanya Malhotra has a knack for picking scripts that surprise us, and pairing her with a gritty director like Pulkit suggests this will be more Gone Girl than Vivah.
