Despite currently shooting in Mumbai for director Vamshi Paidipally’s upcoming untitled feature, Khan has been directly coordinating relief operations through his charitable organization, Being Human, in partnership with the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam.
Phase-Wise Relief Strategy
Rather than a one-time gesture, the relief drive has been designed in structured phases to ensure immediate survival needs as well as long-term rehabilitation:
Phase 1 (Immediate Relief): Volunteers are actively transporting ready-to-eat food packets—containing biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese, and jam—from Guwahati to affected areas like Sivasagar. Each packet is curated to sustain a family for at least three days.
Essential Hygiene & Supplies: Alongside food, the team is distributing clean drinking water, water purification tablets, sanitary pads, and mosquito coils to mitigate health hazards.
Phase 2 (Next Week): The next stage will focus on delivering dry ration kits and essential medical supplies to displaced families.
Phase 3 (Reconstruction): In the final phase, Being Human plans to assist local authorities and communities in rebuilding damaged schools and healthcare facilities across flood-damaged districts.
Film Fraternity Comes Together
While several personalities have brought attention to the crisis, a growing contingent of actors and artists have mobilized support:
Bhumi Pednekar: Partnered with the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF) to distribute hygiene kits, drinking water, and dry rations in Sivasagar.
Charity Concert: Assamese singer Papon joined hands with Vishal Dadlani, Divya Kumar, and Nilotpal Bora for a live Instagram charity concert to raise emergency funds for ground operations.
