Shriya Pilgaonkar recently starred in two theatrical releases - Haiwaan, a crime thriller and Mirzapur: The Movie, an action thriller. The actress spoke with IMDb for their exclusive segment Speed Dating, where she revealed candid details and her thoughts on love, her co-stars, and the real-life moment that convinced her she was on the right career path.

Talking about her character Sweety in Mirzapur: The Movie and her equation with Guddu Pandit, Pilgaonkar praised the dynamic: "I love that a character like Guddu is so comfortable being so vulnerable with Sweety... he lets Sweety take the lead in their personal life." Asked which co-star she'd approach for dating advice, she gave two answers, Pankaj Tripathi, because she recently heard his reflections on how "in love you have to keep letting go of so many things" in an interview, and Saif Ali Khan, revealing, "one day on the sets of Haiwaan, I randomly had a conversation about relationships with Saif. He doesn't seem like he's an overthinker. So he would be somebody I think who'd be good at relationship advice."



Pilgaonkar also got personal about her career, recalling a pinch-me moment early on: "About 7 years ago... I signed my first Hindi film Fan opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and at the same time, I got the opportunity to film with one of my all-time favorite French actors, Jean Dujardin. My day shift was shooting for this French film... and the night shift on the same day was shooting Fan with SRK." She called it proof that "anything is possible" and "an encouraging beginning" to her career.

On what she looks for and what she won't tolerate in a relationship, Pilgaonkar was candid: "Somebody who is very pretentious" is a dealbreaker, she said, explaining, "you have to be kind even when no one's watching." She was equally honest about her own flaws, admitting, "my toxic trait perhaps is lying to myself sometimes about people and situations. And maybe overthinking also." She also confessed to a white lie she once used to let someone down easy: "I've lied to that person that I'm seeing somebody else. That's the only way without hurting their feelings I can kind of get out of that situation."
