Breaking his silence after the final rites, Sidharth Malhotra took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to share a series of nostalgic family photographs. In a soul-stirring note, the Shershaah actor remembered his father as a man of rare discipline and unwavering values.
"He was a man of rare honesty, integrity, and culture. He lived by values that never bent. Discipline without harshness. Strength without ego," Sidharth wrote. He further added, "Even when the stroke confined him to a wheelchair, his spirit stood tall. Papa, your integrity is my inheritance... I will carry your name and your light forward always."
Kiara Advani’s Touching Note For Her Father-In-Law
Sidharth’s wife, actress Kiara Advani, who stood by the family during the difficult time, also penned a beautiful tribute. Sharing an unseen picture from her wedding festivities with the late Sunil Malhotra, she thanked him for welcoming her with open arms and steady wisdom.
"Your warmth was constant. Your generosity effortless. You leave behind a legacy of gentleness and unwavering love," Kiara shared on her social media handle.
The Private Send-Off In Delhi
Upon receiving the news, Sidharth and Kiara immediately rushed from Mumbai to Delhi. To honor the late Captain’s preference for simplicity, the funeral and last rites were conducted on February 17 in a private ceremony attended only by immediate family members, including Sidharth’s mother Rimma Malhotra and brother Harshad.
