The visit comes at a sensitive time for the Khan family, as the 90-year-old patriarch continues his recovery in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following a minor brain hemorrhage earlier this week.
A Late-Night Visit of Solidarity
While most of the city was winding down, Shah Rukh Khan’s convoy was spotted entering the Bandra hospital premises on Saturday evening.
The Meeting: SRK reportedly spent about an hour inside. Sources confirm that Salman Khan was present at the hospital during the visit, and the two superstars spent time together by Salim saab's side.
A Deep Bond: Shah Rukh has often credited Salim Khan for his early guidance in the industry. This visit reinforces the "brotherhood" between the two biggest icons of Indian cinema, especially following Salman’s supportive cameos in SRK’s recent blockbusters.
Medical Update: Stability & Recovery
Despite initial rumors of a critical surgery, the medical team at Lilavati has provided a more reassuring picture:
The Diagnosis: Salim Khan suffered a minimal brain hemorrhage on February 17.
The Procedure: Dr. Jalil Parkar clarified that no surgery was required. Instead, a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA)—a standard diagnostic and therapeutic procedure—was performed.
Current Status: He remains in the ICU for close monitoring. While he was briefly on ventilator support as a safety precaution due to his age, doctors are focused on weaning him off as his vitals stabilize. Recovery is described as "slow but steady."
Privacy Concerns & Family Stance
The visit also highlighted the family's growing demand for privacy.
Displeasure with Leaks: Salman Khan and his siblings have reportedly expressed strong dissatisfaction with the hospital for sharing specific clinical details (like the ventilator status) with the media.
Total Blackout: A spokesperson for the family stated, "Health is a private matter." Following their grievances, the hospital has agreed to cease all public bulletins. Any future updates will now come directly from the Khan family.
Industry Outpouring
Shah Rukh is just the latest in a long line of luminaries to pay their respects.
Aamir Khan visited earlier this week with Gauri Spratt.
Javed Akhtar, Salim's longtime creative partner, was one of the first to arrive.
Malaika Arora, Sangeeta Bijlani, and Iulia Vantur have also been spotted at the hospital, showing the deep respect the industry holds for the man who co-created the "Angry Young Man."
