Singer Jessica Simpson used to leave notes on her mirror telling herself how beautiful she was.

Simpson, who stars in MTV's "Newlyweds" with husband Nick Lachey, says she was never comfortable with her looks and had to take drastic measures to improve her self-esteem, femalefirst.com reported.

But Jessica, 24, says when she met Nick she didn't need the notes any more because he made her feel beautiful.

"I didn't start feeling comfortable in my own skin until I was 20. That's when you begin to accept your flaws because you can't change them," the website quoted her as saying.
