Police have launched an investigation into the pellet-gun shooting of a photographer who was covering a baby shower for pregnant pop princess Britney Spears.

Photographer Brad Diaz was shot in the leg with the small metal pellet while standing at the gate of the Malibu home where the party was held Saturday.

Diaz, who suffered minor injuries, claimed the shot came from the direction of the home, but Spears' bodyguards told authorities they weren't involved in the incident.
