Sam Rami is going back to Columbia Pictures to produce and direct a horror film. This project is being described as Rob Reiner's "Misery" meets Robert Zemeckis' "Cast Away." The script will be written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon based on their original idea.

Raimi made a statement about his partnership with Columbia and Mark and Damian, saying, "I am thrilled to be reunited with Columbia Pictures and reteaming with Sanford and Ange. I have been a fan of Shannon and Swift and we have found the perfect adventure to share with the world."

Raimi's other directorial credits include "Evil Dead" movies, "SpiderMan" trilogy, "Army of Darkness, and his last feature "Drag Me To Hell."
