'Suicide Squad' Sequel Adds Peter Capaldi, Eyes 'SNL's Pete Davidson

After the disastrous 'Suicide Squad', the announcement of the sequel left us squirming. But it seems like James Gunn's next project is slowly gaining currency on account of its extremely 'out there' casting choices. After the addition of Idris Alba and most of the cast returning for the sequel, DC is bringing in more star power.

It was announced this week that the Oscar winner and former 'Doctor Who' Peter Capaldi has been added to the mix in an unspecified role. Not only, but there's also been some talk of SNL funnyman Pete Davidson doing a cameo.

Seems like Gunn's (momentary) firing from MCU turned out to be a good thing DCU. Gunn, who was hired again by MCU now has his foot in both camps. Hence it would only make it convenient to bring more of his collaborators on his DC movie. Regardless, we are excited to see what James Gunn will do under the DC banner!

'Suicide Squad 2' will feature Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, and Joel Kinnaman returning. The movie has added the likes of Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Flula Borg, Steve Agee, Taika Waititi (hopefully) and, Nathan Fillion.

'Suicide Squad 2' has an initial release date of August 6, 2021.
