The story showcases their journey as a married couple going through adjustment issues, as parents of young children, and how they learn to love each other as their extended families mature. Now the story focuses on Naira and Kartik Goenka facing the same journey as Naira's parents, with a youthful twist. The show was premiered on January 12, 2009, and it is still running successfully.

Nakuul Mehta, Kunal Jaisingh, and Leenesh Mattoo portray Shivaay, Omkara and Rudra respectively, the three heirs of the Oberoi family. The show initially focused on the tale of these three brothers, but later became centered on the love story of Shivaay and Anika (Surbhi Chandna); with the story of Omkara and Rudra being shifted to the spinoff series Dil Boley Oberoi. In July 2017 Dil Boley Oberoi ended and the storylines were merged back into Ishqbaaaz, doubling its runtime. Now Ishqbaaaz is back to a half an hour slot.

Kanak sets off on a journey with Uma Shankar, who is her perfect opposite while getting criticized by Palomi and Maasi sa.

Soumya is a calm and quiet girl, but Surbhi is a fun-loving and loquacious girl.

The story is partially based on Manju Kapur's novel Custody. Set in Delhi, the show follows the love story of Dr. Ishita Iyer, who is a Tamil dentist and Raman Kumar Bhalla, who is a Punjabi CEO. Ishita is infertile and becomes emotionally attached to Raman's daughter, Ruhi, who lives with her divorced father. Raman's ex-wife, Shagun, lives with her boyfriend Ashok Khanna and Aditya, her son with Raman. Due to circumstances, Raman and Ishita marry each other. The show has won more than 50 awards.

The series Kundali Bhagya mainly focuses on the tale of Luthra brothers- Rishabh and Karan (Manit Joura & Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Arora sisters- Srishti and Preeta (Anjum Fakih & Shraddha Arya), respectively.
