For Bollywood, the year 2019 has brought something big, as we saw URI: The Surgical Strike, which was released on 11th January, has impressed everyone with its rich content and then on Republic Day, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Thackery got released and going strong on Box-Office. We hope the rest of the year will be equally good for Hindi film industry. In February there are around 5 films, which are slated to release. Let's take a look at these films and their release dates.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga
Bollywood has witnessed many breakout stories which have been praised by the audience. With Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga the makers decided to essay the bold topic of acceptance and coming out of the box, the film interestingly presents the sensitive subject. Bollywood has gone through years of using homosexuality either as a comic plot point or as sleaze. But with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga audience will definitely witness the unusual love story which is going to be decode on this Friday. The film has an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao & Juhi Chawla. Fox Star Studio presents 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and is directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar. This film also marks as a debut film of Shelly Chopra Dhar. The film is slated to release on 1st February 2019.
SP Chauhan
The film is based on the life of Shri S.P. Chauhan (Thakur Satpal Chauhan), a famous social worker from Karnal, Haryana. It highlights his journey from poverty to prosperity in adverse situations, and the struggles he faced while working as a social worker for issues like women empowerment and alcohol-free society. The film features Jimmy Sheirgill, Yashpal Sharma and Yuvika Chaudhary. It is slated to release on 7th February.
Amavas
Far away from the bustle of the city, a young couple is looking forward to their stay in a once-abandoned palatial mansion. But their lives are about to turn into a nightmare, as dark forces lie in wait beneath the shadows of the haunted bungalow. The film features Sachiin Joshi, Nargis Fakhri, Mona Singh, Ali Asgar, Navneet Kaur Dhillon and Vivan Bhatena. The film was slated to release on 11th January and now it will be released on 8th February.
The Fakir of Venice
An Indian con man is hired to find a fakir who can bury himself in the sand for an installation art project in Venice. He passes off a slum dweller from Bombay as the real thing, conning the European art world successfully. It is the story of a strange relationship. A relationship between two characters who are brought together to carry out a deception. To pull it off, however, they must learn to shed the layers of deceit and move towards understanding themselves, and each other. The film features Farhan Akhtar, Annu Kapoor, and Kamal Sidhu. The film was slated to release on 18th January now it's going to release on 8th Feb.
Gully Boy
A musical drama that follows the journey of a gifted street rapper who becomes the face of Mumbai's underground rap music. The film is a story inspired by slum rappers of Dharavi. Ranveer Singh, who is paired opposite Alia Bhatt for the first time on the big screen, is playing the role of a street rapper. The film also marks the first time that Alia Bhatt is working with Excel Entertainment and Zoya Akhtar. The film is slated to release on February 14.
Hum Chaar
Distance, lack of time and busy schedules might make you lose touch with your friends, but true friends are always there for you even if they are not with you all the time! Walk down memory lane to cherish all amazing moments, big dreams and silly decisions. Remember those friends who have lost touch but are inseparable. Produced by Rajshri Productions', Hum Chaar is directed by Abhishek Dixit. It is slated to release on 15th February 2019.
Total Dhamaal
'Total Dhamaal' is the third sequel to Dhamaal, the sequel to Double Dhamaal, and last/final installment in the trilogy. It stars most of the actors from the previous film, including Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi and Aashish Chaudhry. The film promises to make the entertainment triple the what it was in the prequels. It is slated to release on 22nd February.
22 Yards
A dramatic portrayal of a victorious tale of a fallen cricket agent and a young cricketer. 22 Yards is directed by Mitali Ghoshal. Produced by Mitali Ghoshal in association with Surya Sinha and stars Barun Sobti, Amartya Ray, Rajit Kapur, Panchi Bora, Chaiti Ghoshal, Rajesh Sharma, Geetika Tyagi. The film is slated to release on February 22.
