A Kiss Before Dying (1991) - Baazigar (1993)
A Kiss Before Dying is a story of a determined student who murders his pregnant secret girlfriend and moves onto her twin sister who gradually becomes suspicious of her new lover. Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Baazigar' was inspired by it.

The Godfather (1972) - Sarkar (2005)
The seminal gangster epic film which showed us the rise and fall of crime family Corleon family's empire was given a Bollywood treatment by filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma.

Quentin Tarantino, who had started off writing screenplays proved his mettle with the debut feature 'Reservoir Dogs' about a heist gone wrong. Sanjay Gupta adapted into a crime drama 'Kante.'

Robin Williams is a failed parent who dresses up as a woman to be closer to his children and wife. The Bollywood remake saw Kamal Hassan take on the challenge presented by Williams' performance, and gives a strong performance.

American Beauty (1999) - Nishabd (2007)
Before making some of the finest action movies, Mendes made one fo the greatest movie about midlife crisis. Ram Gopal Verma remade it into 'Nishabd' in which Amitabh Bachchan's characters fall for his daughter's young friend.

My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) - Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002)
Julia Roberts starred as Julianne in 'My Best Friend's Wedding' who sets out to sabotage his friend's wedding. Bollywood made a version of the film with Uday Chopra playing Roberts' character.

In Body Heat, Kathleen Turner along with William Hurt plots to murders her husband, but complications arise. 2003 erotic thriller 'Jism' starring John Abraham and Bipasha Basu had a similar storyline.

Unfaithful stars Dianne Lane as a woman who embarks on an affair with a stranger. Mukesh Bhatt's 'Murder' is a story along the lines of 'Unfaithful.'

Jim Carrey becomes God in 'Bruce Almighty' and it turned out to be a great movie. The Bollywood version saw Salman Khan taking on Carrey's role.
