    The glitz and glamorous world of the Indian film industry is not exactly what it looks from outside. There are several stories of actors who left the industry or committed suicide due to failed film career, depression, trauma, and other unsaid reasons. These actors' untimely death proves that the name & fame in the industry is just a facade. SO today,  let's have a look at the list of actors who committed suicide and ended their life.

    Preksha Mehta

    Preksha Mehta who has been a part of shows like Crime Patrol, Laal Ishq and Meri Durga, was found hanging at her residence in Indore in Madhya Pradesh on May 25th, 2020. Reportedly she was quite worried and was concerned about not getting work.

  • Kushal Punjabi

    Kushal Punjabi

    Kushal Punjabi appeared in films such as 'Kaal' and 'Lakshya' as well as the reality show 'Fear Factor' was found hanging at the age of 42 in his Bandra apartment. He left a note behind and wrote nobody should be held responsible for his death.

    Former Miss India (1997) and video jockey Nafisa Joseph was found hanging at her residence in Versova in Mumbai in 2004. She hanged herself at her Versova flat weeks before her wedding. It was said that it was because her marriage was called off at the last moment.

    The Balika Vadhu actress was found hanging at her house. The actress ended her life at the age of just 24 years. Her parents blamed her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh for her death, although no suicide note was found by the police.

    Guru Dutt, well known for his black-and-white classics like 'Kaagaz Ke Phool', 'Baazi', and 'Pyaasa', was found dead on October 10th, 1964, in his bed in his rented apartment at Pedder Road. Reportedly he was on a heavy mix dose of alcohol & sleeping pills for some time when the demise happened.

    South star Mahalakshmi Menon, best known by her stage name Shoba, committed suicide at the age of 17. She ended her life on May 1, 1980, the actress found dead at her residence in Chennai. The manner of Shoba's death, however, remains cloaked in mystery. She won the National Award for Best Actress for the film Pasi in the same year.

    South film industry's sex symbol Silk Smitha who acted in over 200 films which even included Bollywood movies, was found dead on September 23rd, 1996 in her Chennai home. The reason behind her death remains a mystery but it was said that her death was due to prolonged depression.

    Jiah Khan committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her bedroom on July 13th, 2013. Her mother believes that the reason behind her death was her then ex-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi. Jiah Khan was so depressed because of her love life. In the suicide note written by Jiah, mentioned that Sooraj Pancholi ruined her life.

    Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his Mumbai residence on June 15th, 2020. Sushant committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan at the age of 34. As per the report, he was suffering from depression & was on medications.
