The BMC had also sent a notice to Anushka Sharma in 2018 for installing an illegal electric junction box in the common passage area of her building resides at Badrinath Tower at Versova at Andheri without seeking any permission from the civic body.
In 2015, BMC officials and police reached near Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow 'Mannat' at Bandra West to knock down the parking ramp outside his abode. The letter of demolition was sent by BJP MP from Mumbai north-central Poonam Mahajan, who stated that the actor uses this ramp to greet his fans, adding that it had become a nuisance and also disturbed the neighbours.
The late actor Rishi Kapoor was also served with the show cause notice of BMC for breaching its permission to trim branches of the banyan tree inside his luxurious Krishna Raj bungalow at Bandra's Pali Hill. The actor was given permission to trim the six branches of the tree but it was found that the branches were reduced to its trunk.
Priyanka Chopra faced the wrath of BMC in 2018 for the unauthorized construction at the commercial premise that was rented out at Oshiwara in Andheri West. The civic body also found contraventions while checking the adjoining premise, which is used as an office by the Chopra family, at Vastu Precinct building.
In 2017, the BMC demolished Arjun Kapoor's terrace in Juhu. The actor had received a notice from BMC for constructing a 30-by-16 sq ft brick room in Juhu without the permission of the civic body.
Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput were also served the BMC notice as the couple visited the AntiGravity Club, an upmarket Bandra gym amid the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020.
Comedian Kapil Sharma was in headlines in 2017 for his tweet, alleging that a BMC official had demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from Kapil. Later, the BMC claimed that the actor had illegitimate constructions not only in his Versova office building but also at his apartment in suburban Goregaon.
