The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a 1974 American slasher film directed by Tobe Hooper and follows a group of friends who fall victim to a family of cannibals while on their way to visit an old homestead. The film was marketed as being based on true events to attract a wider audience and to act as a subtle commentary on the era's political climate, although the character of Leatherface and minor story details were inspired by the crimes of murderer Ed Gein, its plot is largely fictional. Although, the film was remade in 2013 starring Alexandra Daddario.

Sinister is considered as a bloody terrifying film that will make you jump a mile high, and is genuinely disturbing with an ending that'll stick with you for days afterward. The film is based on a true-crime writer Ellison Oswald (Ethan Hawke) who is in a slump and hasn't had a best seller in more than 10 years and is becoming increasingly desperate for a hit. So, when he discovers the existence of a snuff film showing the deaths of a family, he vows to solve the mystery. But later on, his deep interest puts his family in a danger and close to Mr. Boogie.

Insidious film chapters have a lot of really intense moments that scare, and then grab hold of you. It's not entirely made up of 'make you jump' scenes, which it does have, but scenes with genuine horror. Insidious chapter 1 and 2 are the most intriguing film franchise series that sets records on the global box office. 2011, the released film follows Josh and Renai's story who moved to a new house, seeking a fresh start. However, when their son, Dalton, mysteriously falls into a coma, paranormal events start occurring in the house.

Veronica
2017 released a Spanish film that horrified the whole world not just for its scariest scenes but for its storyline that is too disturbing. The story follows a time when in a solar eclipse, young Veronica and her friends want to summon the spirit of Veronica's father using an Ouija board. However, during the session, she loses consciousness and soon it becomes clear that evil demons have arrived. Part of what makes 'Veronica' so terrifying is that it is based on a true story. In 1992, Madrid police investigated the mysterious death of a young girl, who passed away in hospital shortly after meddling with an Ouija board. The case was never really solved and remains 'unexplained' to this day. Well, Veronica does have some great set-piece scares, and the movie's most disturbing moment is pretty damn good.

2016 American supernatural horror film directed by David F. Sandberg is based on Sandberg's 2013 short film of the same name. After the short film's success, Sandberg announced a film adaptation. The film revolves around Rebecca and her boyfriend who try to investigate the connection between her mother and her imaginary friend, Diana, after her stepfather is murdered by a supernatural entity. The film shows a strange woman entity with claw-like hands when the lights are off, but cannot see it when the lights are on. The film was a success and is available on Amazon Prime digital platform.

Saw
Saw is an American horror franchise created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. Consisting of nine feature films, the franchise primarily revolves around John Kramer, also called the 'Jigsaw Killer' or simply 'Jigsaw'. He was introduced briefly in Saw and developed in more detail in Saw II and the subsequent films. Rather than killing his victims outright, Kramer traps them in situations that he calls 'tests' or 'games' to test their will to live through physical or psychological torture and believes that if they survive, they will be 'rehabilitated'. Even though Kramer was murdered in Saw III, the films continue to focus on the posthumous influence of the Jigsaw Killer and his apprentices by exploring his character via flashbacks. The Shining
1980 psychological horror film, based on Stephen King's 1977 novel of the same name and stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers, and Danny Lloyd. The film's central character is Jack Torrance (Nicholson), an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the isolated historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. Wintering over with Jack are his wife, Wendy Torrance (Duvall), and young son, Danny Torrance (Lloyd). Danny is gifted with 'the shining', psychic abilities that enable him to see into the hotel's horrific past. Well, it's a must-watch film, where you can see the psychic side of Jack Nicholson. Wrong Turn is an American horror film series created by Alan B. McElroy. The series consists of six films, with a seventh in the making. The films focus on various families of deformed cannibals who hunt a group of people in West Virginia by killing them all for food in horrific ways by using a mixture of traps and weaponry. The film is a terrifying blood streaming flick and if you can see deformed cannibals or maneater then this film is a perfect choice for you.

IT Chapter 1
