Imlie, a new show that premiered on Star Plus on November 16, has aroused the attention of audiences. In its very first week, the family drama starring Gashmeer Mahajani and Sumbul Touqeer Khan received tremendous views and made an excellent entry on the rating list.
Eyeballs were caught this year by Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Avinesh Rekhi -starrer Choti Sardarni. With its intriguing plot, the family drama has hooked the viewers. The show added an unexpected twist that created an interest among the audience.

Mahabharat by BR Chopra was another mythological show which came back on TV this year, and took us to our '90s. The show was broadcast on DD Bharati and was performed with, among others, Nitish Bharadwaj, Roopa Gangulu, Gajendra Chauhan, Pankaj Dheer, and Puneet Issar.
The second most-watched TV soap of 2020 is Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa. The serial, which aired on Star Plus in July, centers on a housewife who, taking care of her family and forgets her own struggles. Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey are the protagonists of the show.
Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan came back on TV and broke the spectator records. On April 16, it was reported 77 million views, which make it the world's most-watched enterprise show as per the reports of BARC India. The show came back at Doordarshan.
