We have grown up reading superhero comic books and watching sci-fi films. Even in our childhood we have watched the Indian super-hero show Shaktiman and flicks like Mr.India. Though it was quite fascinating to imagine the superheroes franchise and sci-fi films in Bollywood. But when we talk about Hollywood then they have done a pretty good job in showcasing the strongest superhero warriors and sci-fi films on the big screen. Now, it's Bollywood's turn to exhibit the scientific vision to the world. With this, let's have a look at the list of upcoming Indian sci-fi films.

Phantom
Bollywood is announcing back-to-back superhero ventures and in this league, Kartik Aaryan's name has also been added. As per the reports, Kartik Aaryan has signed Vasan Bala's adaptation of the comic book character 'Phantom'. Phantom is a fictional costumed crime-fighter who operates from the fictional country of Bangalla. The character was created by Lee Falk for the adventure comic strip The Phantom, which debuted in newspapers on February 17, 1936.

Akshay Kumar's next with Jagan Shakti
Akshay Kumar is known for signing five to six films per year. With numerous projects in the kitty, Akshay has also signed Mission Mangal fame director Jagan Shakti's film, 'Mission Lion'. The film is a sci-fi genre and all set to go on the floors in the second half of 2021. In Mission Lion, Akshay will play a double role and will be made on a massive scale.

Krrish film series has become India's first superhero franchise film that has an infinite fan-following among its fans. Now, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan is set to expand the franchise and will soon bring the project on floors. As per the reports, in 'Krrish 4', Krishna will go back in time to bring his father Rohit Mehra back from the dead, as well as the beloved alien Jadoo. The film will follow the time travel concept.

Sanjay Gupta is known for directing the gangster sagas and with time, John Abraham has become his favorite actor. Well, Sanjay is waiting for his film, 'Mumbai Saga' to release soon but for now, nothing has been announced on the film release yet. Although, he has decided to adapt Shamik Dasgupta's graphic novel, 'Rakshak: A Hero Within Us' and has cast John for the lead role. In the sci-fi film, John will play a superhero who stands up and fight against injustice and crime.

Ajay Devgn's next with YRF
Under the YRF project 50, Aditya Chopra is set to launch Ananya Panday's cousin Ahaan Panday's with an untitled sci-fi film. In this film, Ajay Devgn will portray grey shade character and the producer roped Hollywood action director Tom Struthers, who has previously worked on The Dark Knight (2008) and Dunkirk (2017) for the film.

The Immortal Ashwatthama
After 'URI: The Surgical Strike', director Aditya Dhar and Vicky Kaushal are collaborating for the sci-fi film, 'The Immortal Ashwatthama'. Vicky is set to play a character inspired by the warrior Ashwatthama from Mahabharata. As per the film poster released, the film is set in a futuristic world, Vicky can be seen in Ashwatthama's character yielding a lightning sword. The film will go on floors later this year.

Nag Ashwin's 'Prabhas 21'
Deepika Padukone is collaborating with Telugu superstar Prabhas for Nag Ashwin's next which is an untitled film and will be Prabhas' 21st film. Apart from Deepika and Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan will be also seen along with the stars. The film will be a sci-fi film and will soon go on the floors once Prabhas will wrap-up Salaar and Adipurush.

Ayan Mukerji's action fantasy film will star Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Brahmastra will serve as the first film in the planned trilogy and is one of the most-anticipated films of 2021. In the film, Amitabh will be seen portraying Brahma's role and Ranbir as Shiva and Alia as Isha.
