    The year 2020 was that we sat in our houses while the films came to us, in our living rooms. With the coronavirus pandemic taking life to a standstill, the filming of several Bollywood movies got halted & the release had to be postponed. While some of the films get released on OTT platforms, makers of other movies decided to delay the release until cinema halls re-open or the situation gets to be normal. So, here we're presenting the list of Indian flicks delayed due to pandemic.

  • Maidaan

    Maidaan

    Maidaan is now announced to be released on 15 October 2021. The movie stars Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, who worked as an Indian football team coach from 1950 until he died in 1963. Amit Ravindernath Sharma has directed the movie.

  • Sardar Udham Singh

    Sardar Udham Singh

    In this biopic, Vicky Kaushal plays the titular character based on the story of a freedom fighter. In April 2019, the first look of the actor was out and was supposed to be released soon but the publication was delayed due to the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

    Shahid Kapoor's Jersey is the remake of the Telugu movie with the same name. It is also directed by the same director, Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original one. Mrunal Thakur will be seen opposite Shahid as a leading lady. This film also faced obstacles due to the effects of a pandemic.

    It's another Indian period action drama film, helmed by Prashanth Neel that will now hit cinema halls on July 16, 2021. Otherwise, the audience gets treated with the second chapter of this epic movie in 2020. The film stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon in the lead roles.

    One of the most awaited Indian period action drama films, that is written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli was supposed to be released on January 8, 2021. But now, the makers want it to be released on big screens, and that too after analyzing the response of the audience towards cinemas. Now it will hit the box office on October 13, 2021.

    In 2020, it was expected to be the Eid surprise from Salman Khan for his fans. Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda both star in pivotal roles in the film. But now, it will be the gift of Eid 2021, as Radhe's filming wrapped up in October 2020, directed by Prabhudeva.

    The leading roles are played by Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie is an official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump by Tom Hanks. After the gap due to lockdown, the film wrapped up shooting in October 2020.

    Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's first film together after their wedding, '83', is a sports drama directed by Kabir Khan. It's a story of India's landmark triumph in the World Cup in 1983. Earlier, 83 was originally scheduled to be released in April 2020. But unfortunately, the release was postponed.

    Directed by Rohit Shetty, 'Sooryavanshi' marks the comeback of Katrina Kaif as she will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar. The film was supposed to be released on March 27, 2020, but due to the coronavirus, it was postponed, and have speculations to be released in March, 2021.
