Now the filmmaker is coming back with another sports-based film 'Toolsidas Junior'. The film will revolve around a father-son relationship in which the father is a snooker coach who trained his son in the game. Written & directed by Mridul, the film will feature Sanjay Dutt and Rajiv Kapoor in prominent roles.

Toofaan
Toofaan is a sports drama film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and starring Farhan Akhtar as a national-level boxer, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles. Filming commenced in Dongri on 26 August 2019 and was completed in March 2020. The film will stream on 21 May 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

Rashmi Rocket is a sports drama film directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya. The film features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, alongside Priyanshu Painyuli and Abhishek Banerjee. Rashmi Rocket is a story of a Gujarati girl named Rashmi. Since she is a fast runner, her fellow villagers give her the nickname 'Rocket'. Taapsee's character in the film is shown to be from Kutch in Gujarat.

Directed by Nagraj Manjule, Jhund stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru. The biographical sports-drama is produced under the banner of T-Series, Tandav Films Entertainment Pvt.Ltd and Aatpat Films. In the film, Bachchan plays a professor who motivates the street children to form a football team. The film is scheduled for release on June 18, 2021.

In Rahul Dholakia's sports drama Shabaash Mithu Taapsee Pannu will portray the titular role. The film is a biopic of Mithali Raj, the former captain of the Indian women's national cricket team in Tests and ODIs. Well, Mithali is the highest run-scorer in women's international cricket and the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000 run mark in WODIs. Rashmi Rocket is expected to be released at the end of the year or early 2022.

Jersey is a remake of the Telugu sports drama film written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and he has also directed the Hindi version. In the film, Shahid will feature opposite Mrunal Thakur. He decides to return to cricket in his late thirties driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfill his son's wish for a jersey as a gift. The film will be released on November 5, 2021.

In the film, all the actors will play the roles of Indian cricketers that led India to its victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. The film is scheduled for release on 4 June 2021.
