3D seems to be the new found mantra of our Bollywood Directors. After Hollywood making waves in 3D movies, Bollywood is following suit.
Here's a dekko at the ambitious and upcoming 3D projects of Bollywood.
Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar made an announcement yesterday that they'll be making action thriller Don - The Chase Begins Again in 3D format.
The film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead has already been making waves. It is slated to release on December 23.
Shirish Kunder, revealed that his directorial debut, Joker with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha will be shot using 3D technology. Joker, was set to be the first Bollywood movie to be made in 3D creating a new milestone within the Hindi movie industry.
He took to his microblogging website to make a point that he was the first to announce the use of the technology for his film Joker. Shirish wrote, 'Joker was the first Indian stereoscopic 3D film to be announced. Bad news. Everyone else seems to be releasing before us. Good news. They would have set up the entire infrastructure for our release.'
The upcoming science-fiction superhero film directed by Anubhav Sinha, which features Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, is being produced under Khan's production company, Red Chillies Entertainment. SRK had earlier announced that his home production will be in 3D. It will be realeased on Oct 26.
The first official 3D release of Bollywood was Haunted. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the architect of successful scary flicks such as 'Raaz' and 'Raaz 2', the movie is about a real estate agent who tries to sell a house that is haunted.
Other filmmakers like Vikram Bhatt and Sohail Khan are also planning to make their movies in 3D format. While Bhatt has Raaz 3 and Dangerous Ishq lined up, Sohail Khan will start his Sher Khan with brother Salman Khan next year. We are all game for this new technology as long as we get great entertainment!
