Hesitant For A Sequel
Apparantly, the director of Rock On, Abhishek Kapoor was not convinced for a sequel to the original. Back then, Kapoor had told a daily, 'I don't want to rush into a sequel just because it is a commercially viable thing to do. The sequel has to stand on its own feet and not just be a carryover of the original.'

All Set For 'Rock On - 2'
Kapoor, was earlier busy adapting Chetan Bhagat's 'The 3 Mistakes Of My Life' is now focusing on 'Rock On!!' sequel. 'Now the entire cast and crew and scrip are ready. The film will be called Rock On!! 2.'.

Story
We hear 'Rock On!! 2' will carry forward the story of Adi (Farhan Akhtar), Joe (Arjun Rampal) and KD (Purab Kohli). However, Luke Kenny (Rob Nancy), the fourth member of the band who died in the end of the film will obviously not be a part of the sequel

Leading lady
There's still no clarity as to whether the original lead Prachi Desai will carry forward. There was even a buzz that Priyanka Chopra might be a part of 'Rock On 2'.

Cult Film !
The winner of seven Filmfare awards and two National Awards Rock On was critically acclaimed but had an average performance at the box office. The cast of Rock On was featured on the cover of the September 2008 issue of Rolling Stone (India). Its screenplay has also been added to the Academy Film Archive.
And we are all set to Rock on for the second time!
