According to sources, Salman Khan has signed a film with Sooraj Barjatiya after 12 years! So now get set to see your favorite lover boy, Prem, back on the silver screen!
Salman and Director Sooraj Barjatiya, used be the best of friends. And this friendship gave us some absolutely beautiful movies with Salman Khan as Prem - the quintessential lover boy, sweet like honey and innocent like a baby.
Salman was loved by the entire nation as Prem, age and gender no bar. And this movie will be Barjatiya's signature family drama which will revive Salman's lover boy avatar.
This great friendship turned sour when Salman was arrested for killing rare Black Buck during the shooting of Rajshree productions' Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Barjatiya's were principally against the whole thing, so they parted ways.
While they were together, Salman and Sooraj gave the biggest blockbuster ever of Indian cinema, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (opposite Madhuri Dixit) which changed the entire face of Bollywood movies and set the tone for family movies for years to come.
Other really big hits were Maine Pyar Kiya (Opposite Bhagyashree) and Hum Saath Saath Hain (opposite Sonali Bendre)
Post the split, Rajshree Productions attempted to restore the character of 'Prem' through movies like Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Vivah and Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi. But none of them came close even to Salman's portrayal of Prem.
Salman Khan is apparently done with action comedies and wants to go back to love stories.
'Salman wanted Sooraj to make a love story since that was his forte. Also, Salman told him that he has been doing too many action films of late, including the ones he is still shooting for, and now wants a break. Sooraj agreed to make a simple sweet romantic film with Salman,' says the source.
