Changing Persona of Bollywood Gods
There is a famous quote in Hindu mythology stating that 'change is the law of nature'. And it looks like our showbiz merchants have a firm faith in this belief. Eversince its evolution, Indian cinema has always defined and redefined the persona of its onscreen characters and even God is not an exception to it.
The newest entrant to the league of religious comedy genre is upcoming cine flick Oh My God, where Akki will be seen as Gen-X almighty.
So by the time OMG makes it to celluloid, let's have a look at some of previous religious-comedy flicks which showcased different avatars of God.

Akshay Kumar - Oh My God
OMG is a cine cantata about god's rendezvous with Kanji Mehta (Paresh Rawal) who is an atheist, and for whom God and religion are nothing more than a business proposition.
In OMG, cine buffs will get an opportunity to see a jazzy avatar of onscreen god, where Akki will be playing the character of Gen-X Lord Krishna and will be seen flaunting a stylish Harley Davidson along with sunglasses and designer apparels.
And to give Akki's persona a real heavenly touch, makers have managed to fetch a secular registration number (OM 786 along with a cross to signify the the Christianity) for his bike also.

Amitabh Bachchan - God Tussi Great Ho
Previous cine flick which showcased a power dresser God was Salman, Big-B and Priyanka starrer God Tussi Great Ho. In the movie Big-B's appearance showcased an elegantly dressed veteran god.
The movie was reportedly a remake of Hollywood flick Bruce Almighty, starring Jim Carrey and Jennifer Anniston. And inspite of presence of two cine business gods movie bombed on BO.

Sanjay Dutt - Vaah Life Ho Toh Aisi
After seeing Sanjay Dutt as super cool Yamraj, with designer clothes, branded watches and a cool vintage car in, Vah Life Ho Toh Aisi even the almighty would have been surprised. In the movie this kind hearted Yamraj was also seen rocking on the dance floor.
Well we don't know about life, but after seeing such a cool god, all we can say is 'Vaah Yamraj Ho Toh Aisa'.

Saurabh Shukla - Oh My God (2008)
In another cine flick named Oh My God featuring Saurabh Shukla and Vinay Pathak, god had a rendezvous with an ambitious yet idealist middle class man Rajendra Dubey (Vinay Pathak), who wants to be rich but doesn't want easy money.
Even in this movie god was in a common man avatar which was somewhat different from masses' perception about God.

Kadar Khan - Taqdeerwala
The movie which showcased Yamraaj quite in accordance with the perception of human about god was Kader Khan, Asrani and Venkatesh starrer Taqdeerwala.
In the movie Yamraaj's personality was decorated quite traditionally with gold ornaments and tiara, which very well matched the common man's view about the persona of the god.
