Best Actor
Undoubtedly, in 2012 it was a neck to neck competitions among various cine biggies who came up with best of their performances to charm the masses. But that doesn't mean that they all were best in one or the other respect.
But after seeing various award categories under which they were garlanded with honor, it looks like Stardust didn't want to invite the wrath of these cine stars.
Surprisingly Ranbir, who won almost all the Best Actor awards this year for his performance in Barfi!, was completely overlooked at the awards night and stars like Hrithik, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay, SRK , Manoj Bajpai and Ayushmann Khurrana were decorated with awards under Best Actor (Drama), Best Actor (Comedy-Romance), Best Actor (Thriller-Action), Best Actor (Editor's choice), Best Actor categories respectively. -
Best Actress
As far as Best actress category is concerned, then if the competition would have been only between Priyanka and Vidya, then many wouldn't have got surprised.
But after seeing an entire shoal of hotties comprising of Anushka, Kareena, Sridevi and surprisingly Farah Khan besides PC and Vidya under categories like Best Actress (Comedy Romance), Best Actress (Editor's Choice) and Best actress category, gives us ample reasons to raise our brows over the credibility of the criterion used for awarding the honor. -
Best Film
Very much like Best Actor and Best Actress award, jury of the Stardust awards followed a similar approach to pick up the 'Best Movies' of the year by simply allocating somewhat synonymic terms to accommodate two most widely acclaimed movies of the year.
Stardust picked Barfi! under 'Film of the Year' category and garlanded Vicky Donor with accolades under 'Best Film' category -
Best Director
To keep its rapport intact with ace directors of industry, Stardust once again came up with a creative idea where it accommodated all the ace directors of industry under the umbrella of 'Best Director award.'
For Best director award Stardust fawned K.Jo under 'Dream Director' category, simultaneously obliged Shoojit Sirchar through 'Best Director' award and offered an olive branch to Gauri Shinde by adjudging her as 'Best Debut Director.'
And besides this director of Salman starrer Ek Tha Tiger, Kabir Khan was honoured with 'Hottest New Filmmaker of the Year.'
We are still trying to find out where, Anurag Kashyap and Anurag Basu had been when best directors were to be picked. -
