Following the legacy of yesteryears is not a new thing in Bollywood, be it the screenplay mannerism, the character presentation or the traditional cinematic styles.
But from the past few years another trend which is taking over is of borrowing cues from the songs of the yesteryear songs.
So have a look at some of the recent aural delights which have thoroughly succeeded in reviving the magic of past yesteryear memorable carols. -
Naino Mein Sapna - Himmatwala
These days ace director Sajjid Khan is running from pillar to post to revive the magic of yesteryear memorable cine flick Himmatwala. Be it the screenplay, narration or the songs Sajjid is taking care of every minute component pertaining to his upcoming remake.
And after seeing the remake of 'Naino mein Sapna' song one can easily gauge the extent of care that Sajjid has taken in reconstructing this memorable song of previous Himmatwala. -
Dhak Dhak Karne Lagaa - Saala Nautanki
The peppy song 'Dhak Dhak Karne Lagaa' of Ayushmaan, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Evelyn Sharma starrer Nautanki Saala is the newest entrant of this retro music league.
In the original song of Beta it was official 'Dhak Dhak Girl' of Bollywood Madhuri who made the masses' eye balls rove. And this time it's gorgeous Evelyn who is mesmerizing every one with her sensual torso moves. -
Na Jaane Kahaan Se - I, Me Aur Main
Although lyrics of 'Na Jaane Kahaan See Aaaya hai' song of recently released I,Me Aur Main were rehashed by the lyricist in order to suit the onscreen material where John, Chitrangada and Prachi exhibited their marvellous chemistry, but inspite of loads of oomph in the remake, it was the spell of the original song from the movie Chaalbaaz featuring Sri Devi and Sunny Deol which got resurrected in the memories of the masses.
But one fact which can't be denied about the new version is that satiating dose of oomph that it has was obviously far more than the original version. -
Chandni O Meri Chandni - Chaar Din Ki Chandni
It looks like cine biggies have an unending fascination for Sri devi songs, hence they seldom miss any chance to take cues from the songs featuring her.
In 'Chandani O Meri Chandni' song of movie Chaar Din Ki Chandni Tusshar and Kulraj recreated the number with full gusto and energy, making it an ode to not just Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor and the Swiss Alps but to 'Jumping Jack' Jeetendra too. -
Hawa Hawai - Shaitan
The classic vintage song 'Hawa Hawai' had the expressions and dance moves which instead of Sridevi no other actress could have performed with such an ease.
But as the time rolled ahead the song was superbly remixed in club-house style with a deliciously raspy voice by Suman Sridhar for the dark drama Shaitan starring Kalki Koechlin. -
Disco Deewaane - Student of The Year
Although Nazia Hassan's classic disco song 'Disco Deewaane' was never a part of any cine saga, but when it was blended with tons of grove and was incorporated in the recently released Alia, Sidharth and Varun starrer Student of The Year, it overnight emerged as a chart topping aural carol.
And besides techno garnishing the song had a marvellous choreography to make the masses dance.
