Ever since inception of Indian cinema, Bollywood celebs are considered as idols by millions of their fans, and it's because of this global repute of these celebs, that they are expected to be moral ideals for their fans.
But how can one forget that even these cine titans and dames are also the human beings, who too can commit mistakes which may go against the rule of law.
So let's have a look at few such Bollywood celebrities who had an unfortunate tryst with law and had to spend some time behind the bars. -
Sanjay Dutt
Possibly, before Supreme Court's verdict, Sanju Baba may have expected mercy on some valid grounds especially his transformation from spoilt brat to a kind hearted human, but all his hopes got washed away within no time when Supreme court sentenced him for 5 years imprisonment.
Although he has completed his 18 months term but still coming three and a half years are not going to be easy for him. -
Salman Khan
Controversy's most loved child our very own Sallu Miyaa too had an unfortunate rendezvous with law and had to spend three days in prison for poaching chinkaras and black bucks while shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan.
Post this Sallu Miya once again landed in troubled water in 2002, when he rammed his car into a bakery, killing one person. At that time Salman was booked under the charges of drunken driving and had to spend 17 days behind the bars.
With ongoing case proceedings in court and recent adverse verdicts of lower court, it is expected that Dabangg of Bollywood may also have a tryst with bad fate in the days ahead. -
Shiney Ahuja
After making an impressive debut with Gangster, Shiney Ahuja too got clutched in the claws of bad luck and was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping his maid.
Shiney was arrested under the charges of rape, criminal intimidation and wrongful confinement of his maid. -
John Abraham
John's passion for vrooming bikes is not hidden from any one in the tinsel town, but this passion of Mr Cool of Bollywood once landed him in trouble, when he rammed his bike in to two men while riding on the streets of Mumbai.
But as soon as he realised that what has happened, he immediately halted a cab and drove off with the two injured men to a hospital. And possibly it's because of this altruistic attitude of John that he got relieved from prison just after 15 days. -
Fardeen Khan
Although FK Jr is changed man now, but in 2001 he too got into limelight for some not so pleasing reasons.
Fardeen was arrested for buying cocaine from a drug dealer in Mumbai luckily he got rid of those bars in 5 days. -
Saif Ali Khan
Even Chotte Nawab, Saif landed in legal soup just before the release of Agent Vinod, when he was booked under section 325 of IPC for a scuffle with an NRI Iqbal Sharma.
Reportedly, Sharma complained that Saif and his friends were too loud, soon the scene got ugly and apparently the suave Khan punched Iqbal's face. -
Monica Bedi
After a failed cine stint, Monica would never have imagined that she will ever rise to the horizon of fame. But 'unfortunately' she did, and 'unfortunate' because it was not because of any impressive reason.
After being arrested for her association with gangster Abu Salem, Monica was convicted by Indian judicial system in fake passport case but was later acquitted due to lack of evidence.
