Sony Pictures have announced the release date for the sequel to their Oscar winning-animation movie "Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse" The sequel will swing its wat into the theatres on April 8, 2022. Dave Callaham will pen the script and Joaquim Dos Santos will direct the movie. Sony Pictures tweeted a cool, glitchy graffiti spider-logo announcing the sequel date.

Directed by Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, and Rodney Rotham and co-written by Phil Lord and Rodney Rotham, "Into The Spider-Verse" was the origin story of Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) who after gaining superpowers from a spider bite protects the city as Spider-Man. Soon, he meets alternate versions of himself and gets embroiled in an epic battle to save the multiverse.
