Canadian writer-director Stella Menghie's fourth feature film "The Photograph" released its trailer last Friday. The trailer stars Issa Rae as Mae the daughter of a famed photographer Christina Eames. When Christina dies unexpectedly, she leaves her estranged daughter Mae hurt, angry and full of questions.
Soon, Mae finds a photograph tucked away in a safe-deposit box, finds herself delving into her mother's early life; an investigation that leads to an unexpected romance with Michael Block, a rising journalist (Lakeith Stanfield).
Written and directed by Stella Menghie, "The Photograph" is the story of intertwining love stories set in the past and in the present. It stars Issa Rae, Lakeith Stanfield, Y'lan Noel, Chante Adams, Lil Rey Howery, Chelsea Peretti, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jasmine Ceophas Jones, Teyonah Parris, Rob Morgan, and Courtney B. Vance.
"The Photograph" has a theatrical release date of February 14, 2020 by Universal Pictures.
