Teenaged actress Lindsay Lohan backed out of the British premiere of her movie "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and returned to New York to attend the beginning of her parents' divorce proceedings.

According to People magazine, a representative of Lohan said, "Lindsay decided to come home to support her mother and her siblings during this divorce trial."

Lohan and her co-star Michael Keaton were to go on a promotional visit for the launch of the movie in England.

Lohan's mother Dina filed for divorce from her husband Michael after 19 years of marriage. Michael Lohan is currently serving a four-year prison term on charges of assault and drunk driving. He has also supposedly asked for a percentage of his daughter's earnings in the divorce suit.
