Manya Singh, Auto-driver's Daughter and A Run-Away Child Gets Crowned Miss India Runner-up!
The VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 event was held recently and a girl named 'Manya Singh' from Uttar Pradesh was crowned VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 Runner Up. Her journey is not an ordinary one as being a daughter of an auto driver, Manya proved that you don't need to be rich to pursue your dreams. This story of Manya Singh became more inspirational when she talked about her hurdles on social media.

Here are her words after she received the title, "I've spent numerous nights without food and sleep. I've spent many afternoons walking for miles on end. My blood, sweat, and tears have amalgamated into the courage to pursue my dreams. Being a rickshaw driver's daughter, I never had the opportunity to attend school as I had to start working in my teens. All the clothes I had were hand-me-downs."

You all would be stunned to read that Manya Singh was a run-away child who left her house when she was 14 and did several jobs to sustain herself. She would attend classes in the day, washing dishes part-time in the evening and worked at a call centre at night.

"I yearned for books, but luck wasn't in my favour. Eventually, my parents mortgaged whatever little jewellery my mother had to ensure that I paid my exam fees in order to earn a degree. My mother has suffered a lot to provide for me. At 14, I ran away from home. I somehow managed to complete my studies in the day, became a dishwasher in the evening and worked at a call centre at night. I've walked hours to reach places so I could save the rickshaw fare," she said.

Well, India is so proud to see Manya Singh's journey as many people from across the country congratulated the young girl. Former Miss World, actor Manushi Chillar also felt proud of Manya Singh and had commented, "Glass ceilings to shatter." on her Instagram post. We are super proud of you Manya! May you achieve greater heights.

Manasa Varanasi, an engineer from Telangana, emerged as the winner of VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020. While Haryana's Manika Sheokand was declared Miss Grand India 2020.
