A Brazilian pet shop owner is planning to open a brothel for dogs.

Five female dogs will be sterilised to work as 'pet courtesans' in Rio.

Ricardo Brito says he plans to run the free brothel from a back room at his pet shop.

Mr Brito says the service should be up and running by February.

He said the five courtesans will have special baths and paint their claws red to attract clients.

They will 'work' for 15 days at a time, twice a year.

Mr Brito said: "Each of them will have sex with three dogs a day."

He got the idea for a dog brothel from his friends.

Mr Brito said: "They told me their dogs climbed up people's legs. Having sex calms dogs down."
