10 Khiladi Performances by Akshay Kumar

10 Khiladi Performances by Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar is going to have his second outing on the box office with Gabbar is Back on Friday. Playing the role of a civilian who enforces moral justice, this movie is expected to be a visual treat for all his fans and audiences. However, this is not the first time Akshay is taking up such a role. We look at few of his films where he showcased his love for the country.

Main Khiladi Tu Anari

The 1994 hit starred Akshay in the role of a rigid cop, looking to avenge the death of his closed one. Also starring Saif Ali Khan, the movie still makes us nostalgic. And yes, who can forget the splendid performance of Khiladi Kumar!

Khakee

With a brilliant ensemble cast comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, and Aishwarya Rai, this movie again had Akshay playing the role of a cop. However, this one had him tickling our funny bone. The music of this movie is still pretty fresh!

Aan

Men At Work: Playing the stern ACP came naturally to Akshay in this movie. With a cast that was as powerful as the script, the movie gave our Khiladi a strong push towards better movies. The movie is a fan favorite for the television audience even today.

Namastey London

This one was crucial for our Khiladi as it brought an end to his long series of flops. Who can forget the Punjabi brat on his bullet, riding through the fields of Punjab, and that one scene where he lectures an entire British gathering about the awesomeness of India?

Singh is King

Apart from the music of this movie, it was the performance of Akshay Kumar that won hearts all over the country. Playing the role of a cheeky Sikh boy, he stood out as an actor with his comic timing. We return for a similar dose later this summer in the form of Singh is Bling!

Patiala House

Well, not exactly the patriotic spirit there, and yet, one couldn't miss the subtle Khiladi playing the role of an aspiring cricketer. The movie did not earn much at the box office, but his performance was respected by critics and audiences all around.

OMG - Oh My God!

While Aamir Khan may have reaped quite a few profits from P.K., it won't be wrong to realize that Akshay Kumar had already covered the concept brilliantly in this movie. Another strong performance by Kumar forced many to rethink their ideological inclinations.

Special 26

How many times do we get to see Akshay Kumar in a movie that contains a real script? Well, making an exception, this movie garnered laurels from everywhere. Akshay, as a fake CBI inspector, was both, magnetic and powerful.

Holiday

Khiladi is never off duty when it comes to playing a responsible civil servant. Playing the role of an army officer, Akshay gave a power packed performance in this Action Drama that was released close to Independence Day. There have been rumors about a possible sequel too!

Baby

It won't be wrong to say that Baby is going to be at the receiving end of a few awards later next year. With its script already on its way to the Oscar library, we can't help but admire the brilliant performance by Akshay Kumar as a spy.
