Bollywood On The Retro Track

Bollywood On The Retro Track

Flared pants, flower prints, sideburns... that whole 70's look is back in Bollywood. Lets take a look at just how retro Bollywood can be...

Om Shanti Om

Farah Khan ushered in the trend that's really caught the Bolly fancy! With a plethora of actors and actresses, this movie was a tribute to those good old days of cinema. The movie takes its name from the yesteryear's famous song Om Shanti Om from Karz.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Recollect the Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte song? It's a tribute to twelve legendary actors of the 60s and 70s. There is Shahrukh Khan who enacts Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. Then there is Kajol paying tribute to Nargis, Lara to Helen, Bipasha to Nutan, Priety to Sharmila Tagore and Rani Mukherjee to Neetu Singh in this song.

Once Upon A Time in Mumbai

Prachi Desai is the new Dimple Kapadia and Kangana Ranaut is the new Zeenat in Once upon a time in Mumbai. Gangster Ajay Devgan with his long sideburns, fellow smugglers and Cadillacs going to cabaret in bell bottoms...oooh, cool, Amitabh in the 70s look!

Action Replayy

Maybe there's an overdose of the loud prints and the floral motifs, but the attitude and the look is totally retro! Vipul Shah's film is set to 'replay' the 60s. From Akshay Kumar's haircut to Aishwarya Rai's get-up, everything has a flavour of retro.

Golmaal 3

Mithun Chakraborthy, who is the newest addition to the Golmaal team, does a rendition of his hallmark I am a Disco Dancer from his 1983 movie Disco Dancer - in Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 3.

Dunno Y... Naa Jaane Kyon

To cash in on the season's mood, Zeenat Aman, 70s' svelte glamgirl, will be performing an encore of the famous track, Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko from Yaadon Ki Baraat in her comeback movie, Anil Sharma's Dunno Y...Naa Jaane Kyon.

Tees Maar Khan

Farah seems to dig the look, as after Om Shanti Om, she has Akshay dressed up in the 70s style. Not just that, Kat is ready to gyrate, a la Kimi Katkar in Munni ki Jawani!

Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji

Madhur Bhandarkar says that he has always been a RD Burman fan. Hence, in his latest Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, he's getting Shveta Salve to gyrate to a remix of Panchamda's tracks.

Heroine

Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine will be an ode to the 60s and 70s' divas of Bollywood.
