Birthday Special: Best Movie Performances of Shahrukh Khan

As the Badshah of Bollywood turns 54 today, we take a look back his most iconic roles that have made a towering figure in the film industry-

Darr (1993)

Shahrukh Khan is terrifyingly great as a psychopath Rahu, who vows to destroy the object of her obsessions after she gets engaged to another man.

Main Hoon Naa (2004)

Khan plays an Army Major who goes undercover as a college student to protect a general's daughter from a rogue soldier. With Major Ram, Khan found the perfect balance of pathos and intensity.

Don (2006)

Taking a role of this magnitude can be terrifying for any actor, but SRK's take on 'Don' surpassed expectations and won him tremendous praise.

Dil Se (1998)

This Mani Ratnam directed film saw Shahrukh Khan playing a Amarkant, a radio executive whose idealism clashes with a revolutionary he falls in love with. He brought a great unfiltered passion to the part.

Chak De! India (2007)

King Khan played Kabir, a disgraced hockey player who takes on the coaching job for the Indian Women's Hockey Team. It is truly one of his best roles in recent memory.

My Name is Khan (2010)

SRK is phenomenal as Rizvan Khan, an Indian Muslim man with Asperger's syndrome takes a challenge to speak to the President of the United States seriously and embarks on a cross-country journey.

Veer Zara (2004)

Khan gave another memorable performance in 'Veer Zara' as Veer, an airforce pilot who falls in love with a Pakistani girl Zara.

Swades (2004)

Shahrukh Khan as NASA engineer Mohan Bhargava heads back to India to look for his nanny Kaveri Amma and finds a purpose bigger than himself, and love. Khan really soars with the role of a man struggling with his identity.

Devdaas (2002)

Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's opus ' Devdas' is a huge responsibility to bring on-screen. Shahrukh Khan yet again gave a memorable performance and added another Filmfare award to his tally.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

SRK gives one of best career performances early in his career in DDLJ, a movie that has cemented its place as one of the greatest Bollywood movies ever.
