When Heroes Become Bad Guys

When Heroes Become Bad Guys

Mani Ratnam's Raavan is creating major ripples of interest among the trade pundits as well as the cine goers. Mostly, people are curious to see the immensely talented Abhishek in his portrayal of the dark character.

Of course, it takes us back to the other heroes who dared to take on negative roles and did them with aplomb.

Saif Ali Khan

Who can forget the totally evil Saif in Omkara? He was evil personified.

Really, truly rotten with not a single redeeming feature about him. Although the film had some fantastic performances, Saif, as the rustic villain, quite stole the show.

Hrithik Roshan

Omigosh! His portrayal of the cunning thief was so charming that he quite overshadowed Abhishek, who played the police officer after him.

Who can forget his Greek god looks in Dhoom 2? Quite stole the show, the charming international thief, did!

Emraan Hashmi

The Gangster was in fact, not the villain, but the police officer, played by Emraan in the film, was.

Super smooth and slick, Emraan was quite hate-worthy in his mal-treatment of the love-lorn Kangana, and the hunted gangster, Shiny Ahuja.

Abhishek Bachchan

He was so dark in Yuva, so troubled, so violent, so ruthless and so utterly convincing that he actually had people cowering in their chairs when he made his appearance!

The junior Bachchan is a mine of talent and he never disappoints.

Amitabh Bachchan

As the scheming, cold manipulator in Aankhein, who masterminds a bank heist to get revenge for the unjust treatment meted out to him, is another fine performance by him.

Amitabh has never been fearful of stepping into negative shades and does them effortlessly. So what should this have been any different?

Shahrukh Khan

Shah Rukh did a triology of villainous roles. Darr was the most notable, where his crazy 'k-K-K- Kiran had chills going down poor Juhi Chawla's spine and the audiences too, he plays the obsessed lover, who would commit murder to get his love.

The characters he played in Bazigaar and Anjaam were pretty cold and ruthless too.
