Delight Your Valentine

Delight Your Valentine

Be different this Valentine! Do away with the same old red roses, teddies and chocolates and use these ideas to show your loved one that you really care!

Breakfast In Bed

Make breakfast for your partner and serve it to them in bed. The classic 'breakfast in bed' routine will set a gentle romantic tone for the day, and can be done relatively inexpensively, using items you already have in the kitchen.

Love Poem

Copy a famous love poem onto your lover's mirror so that when they wake up and head to the bathroom, they'll be reminded how you feel. Just remember to write it in something that's easily washable, and take the initiative to clean it off yourself when the time comes.

Picnic Time

Surprise your date at work on their lunch hour with a simple picnic lunch and a collection of flowers - avoid roses, as they've become quite cliche on Valentine's day. A selection of cheeses, some bread and fruit, and sparkling flavored water make a light and healthy lunch.

Fireplace Fun

Place a blanket on the floor near the lit fireplace with candles on the mantle and have your Valentine's meal as a candle-lit picnic with a bottle of your favorite bubbly.

Italian Romance

Some soft Italian love songs on the CD player, a luscious Fettucini Alfredo with a bottle of your favorite Italian vino, then some fresh canoli from the pastry shop and cups of amaretto-flavored coffee for a taste sensation - top it off with a sensuous scented bubble bath for two.

Balloon Goodies

Insert candy surprises into balloons before inflating them - add a folded-up Valentine's message then inflate each balloon. Tie with a red ribbon and attach to your loved one's chair for them to find Valentine's morning.
