Celebs Who Have Been Sued For Posting Pictures of Themselves

These celebrities have found themselves in trouble over sharing their personal pictures via photo-sharing portals -

Tom Holland

Photographer Steven Ferdman sued Sony Pictures for using one of his photos of Tom Holland on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming on the movie's official social media accounts without his knowledge. Holland also posted the photo to his personal Instagram account. Ferdman reportedly dropped the suit in early April.

Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl sued American drugstore chain Duane Reeds when they used a picture of her carrying bags of the aforementioned pharmacy. The lawsuit which was worth US$6 million was eventually withdrawn.

50 Cent

Rapper 50 Cent got into hot waters by sharing a picture of himself without permission. Christopher Pasatieri, a photographer, claimed damages for alleged copyright infringement.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Cleveland Browns player Odell accused the agency of extortion after they asked for US$40,000 for a picture Odell shared. The agency's complaint did not go anywhere.

Jessica Simpson

Last year, Jessica Simpson was sued by Splash News and Picture Agency for sharing a picture of her in front of the Bowery Hotel in New York City. The case eventually dismissed in March last year.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid found herself in trouble over something she posted last year. She did win her case against Xclusive-Lee but was sued again for sharing a picture of her former boyfriend Zayn Malik.

Khloe Kardashian

Khloe shared a picture of her and Kourtney hanging around in a Miami restaurant, over which she was sued by Xposure Photos for US$150,000 for copyright infringement and US$25,000 for the unauthorized alteration or removal of copyright information.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has managed to find a loophole in the system! The reality TV star told her fans on Twitter that they could post her pictures anytime they like as long they don't have an agency tag.

Ariana Grande

Paparazzo Robert Barbera sued the pop star and is looking for either the profits earned or US$25,000 in damages for the unauthorized use of pictures owned by him.
