Laila Majnu is a 1976 movie based on the legendary story of lovers Laila and Majnun. Directed by Harnam Singh Rawail, Rishi Kapoor here played the iconic role of Majnu opposite Ranjeeta Kaur.

A reboot of the 1990 film of the same name, it directed by Karan Malhotra and Rishi Kapoor played negative character of Rauf Lala and he was so good that he won an IIFA award in best negative role.

The film marked the return of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor as a lead couple. The film is about a middle-class school teacher who tries to keep his wife and children happy in inflationary times and dreams of buying a car. It won 58th National Award for Best Hindi Feature film and Rishi Kapoor won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor Critics.
