Recent nomination of actress Rekha and Sachin Tendulkar to Rajya Sabha seemed to have further strengthened celeb-politico bonding.

But, because of not so impressive performances credentials of earlier celebs who made it to Parliament, nomination of the duo received a mixed response from the Indian masses.

So let's have a look at some mirthful ideas crowding the social media platforms about the nomination of the duo, and not so impressive performances of past celeb MPs.

Sachin Tendulkar

Looks like Congress lead UPA government has taken the Indian citizen's outcry, 'only God can Save the Congress Now', very seriously and has roped in the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar for their rescue in 2014 elections.

Possibly the political parties who were earlier using religion for their political gains will have a tough time ahead, because now the God (Sachin Tendulkar) himself will be competing with them.

Rekha

With the arrival of Rekha in Parliament one thing is proved that ad makers have a good sight to gaze the future trends, and epic Nirma Ad: 'Hema, Rekha, Jaya aur Sushma...' was surely a brilliant futuristic ad by some Seer, keeping the Rajya Sabha in mind.

Lata Mangeshkar

Lataji the living legend of India too underwent a thorough criticism, for being absent from the proceedings of the house.

Despite being a regular visitors of Parliament Hema couldn't leave any impact, and ended up being just a celeb gem dazzling her party's star studded celeb lobby.

Vyajyanti also tried her luck in the politics on Congress ticket, but failed to leave any impact. Later on she quit the assembly in 1999 due to her differences with Congress.
