Iron Ladies of Celluloid

Bollywood never run short of ideas, but one genre which has always remained one of the hottest favorites for B-Town biggies is, cine sagas knitted around the political core with an Iron lady leading the front.

If the buzz has anything to do with truth, then our very own Bebo is the newest entrant to step in the shoes of Iron Lady avatar in Prakash Jha's upcoming cine flick.

So by the time Kareena prepares herself for the role let's have a look at some of the cine actresses who have already proved their mettle as the Iron Ladies on the big screen.

Kareena Kapoor

After Kareena's stepping out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela and her much talked about item song halkat jawani, their is another buzz hovering around in gossip arena about herand that is regarding her being the female lead of Prakash Jha's upcoming political thriller which is reportedly a sequel of Raajneeti.

If reports are to be believed then in the movie Kareena will be seen playing character of Prime Minister of India and will be accompanied by cine-business colleague Ajay Devgn.

Kittu Gidwani

Well, it's not that it's only Gandhi-Nehru dynasty only which has served as source of inspiration for our cine sorcerers.

This time it's BSP Supremo Mayawati whose persona has acted as driving force for Ishraq Shah in whose upcoming cine flick Ek Bura Budha veteran actress Kittu Gidwani will be seen playing the role of Mayawati and Raghuvir Yadav will portray the character of Anna Hazare.

Katrina Kaif

It won't be wrong to say that the Raajneeti was a true game changer for Katie who was blessed with a boon, to showcase her acting potential in the movie Raajneeti as Indu Pratap and even fetched Star Screen Best Actress Award ( Popular Choice) for her sinewy performance.

Initially it was believed that the role of Kat is somewhat inspired from the life of Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi, but in order to avoid any kind of controversy, makers negated any such resemblance.

Raveena Tandon

Another cine saga which appealed the masses and fetched a sigh of relief for female protagonist Raveena Tandon was Madhur Bhandarkar's Satta.

Through Anuradha Sehgal's character in Satta Raveena got an opportunity to slips under the skin of character and give a polished performance, leading to the bestowing of accolades on this 'Mast Mast Girl' whose career was otherwise amid doldrums.

Suchitra Sen

One of the memorable political sagas which truly stormed the the showbiz arena and political aisles is cult classic Aandhi featuring Suchitra Sen and Sanjeev Kumar.

On the release of Aandhi major buzz that scorched the gossip arena tremendously is its being inspired from the life of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, but later on it turned out to be a story somewhat inspired from the life of politician Tarkeshwari Sinha from Bihar region.
