Films Deepika Padukone turned down

From her debut in 2007 with Shahrukh Khan to Piku in 2015, Deepika has come a long way in the industry. Her style, relationships, profession and personal life has always been in the public eye. All this while, she has been quite choosy in all her roles, which is evident from the number of hits she has given. Today, we take a look at the movies that Deepika turned down.

Shuddhi

Somehow, it feels convenient to believe that this film was jinxed since the day it was announced. Neither had it managed to find a lead actor with ease, nor a lead actress. Deepika was earlier shortlisted for the role which she turned down for Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani.

Sultan

Deepika has repeatedly expressed her desire to work with Salman Khan, but it seems that this opportunity is going to make her wait for a few more years with her busy schedule and the actor's recent conviction.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan

An actress has to be brave to turn down a Yash Chopra movie. Turns out, Deepika is. Before Anushka and Katrina were finalized for their respective roles, it was Deepika who was to play one of the roles in the movie.

Fast and Furious-7

The movie became the first Hollywood flick to register a business of 100 Crores in India. However, very less know that Deepika was to play a key role in the movie, for which she even had a screen test. This one is a golden opportunity missed, Ms. Padukone!

Dhoom-3

Again, before Katrina, Deepika was the first choice of the production house. Though, it can be argued that her decision was a wise one considering the double role of Aamir Khan didn't leave much screen time for other actors, especially Katrina.

Roy

Oh Lord! Thankfully, Deepika turned down the role of the lead actress in the biggest flop of 2015, Roy. Starring her favorite co-actors, Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor, we can only guess what made the actress take this otherwise smart decision.

Kick

Not the lead role this time, but Deepika was given an opportunity for an item song in the movie Kick. She turned this one down too. Her consistent trysts and misses with Salman Khan are surely comical.

Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo

A movie which is now in a soup considering Salman's conviction was earlier looking to cast Deepika in the lead role. Deepika turned this one down too, thus letting her once good folk, Sonam Kapoor, bag the role.
